What Data We Collect and Why

We process personal data based on your consent to provide Hide and Chase services.

• Beta signup: Name, email, demographic information, and playing preferences to manage beta access and improve the app.
• Account: Email and password (hashed) to enable account creation. Required only for creating game presets or sessions.
• Game data: Preset names, roles, team structures, visibility rules, team assignments, team names, and team selfies to enable and enhancegameplay.
• Location data: GPS location of team leaders (up to every 10 seconds during active games) to share with other teams according to game visibility rules and create post-game overviews.
• Anonymous statistics: Aggregated usage data (e.g., number of games created) to improve the app. Cannot identify individual users.

Data within a game session (team names, selfies, location) is visible to other players in that session according to game rules. We store your data securely in Germany. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Hide and Chase contains no advertisements.

Data Retention

• Beta signup: Up to 60 days after beta ends (deletable on request)
• Account: Until you delete your account (immediate deletion)
• Game presets: Until the preset creator deletes them
• Game sessions: Until deleted by session creator

Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, port, or object to the processing of your data. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account or contacting us (this won't affect prior processing).
